Kenneth Jaskot is currently general manager of
Spirits, Etc., a wine and spirits retail organization in Huntington,
West Virginia.
A member of the Barboursville, West Virginia club
since 1999, Ken has been club newsletter editor from 1999 through
2005, a club director since 2002, named club Rotarian of the Year in
2001, winner of District 7550 best newsletter award in 2000 and
2001, 2004-2005 club president, District webmaster from 2004,
and is District 7550 Governor for the Rotary year 2006-2007.
Ken is both a Paul Harris Fellow and a Rotary Sustaining Member.
Ken was born and raised in New York City, graduated
with a degree in Literature from Spring Hill College in Mobile,
Alabama, in 1970, then spent 2 years as a Peace Corps volunteer in
Tomegbe, Togo, West Africa, as a teacher of English as a second
language in the village high school, and where he met his wife
Virginia, who was serving as a Peace Corps health educator in Badou,
Togo.
Ken’s career has encompassed a variety of positions
in a number of states, including: writer and graphic designer in
Vermont; restaurant manager in Florida; television producer and
director in Colorado and Missouri; director of customer services for
Time Warner cable-TV operations in Missouri and North Carolina;
vice-president and general manager of a 5 state regional cable-TV
company based in West Virginia; and president and general manager of
a computer services company, also in West Virginia. Ken has taught
at the University of Missouri, and has developed and managed a
number of volunteer organizations in Colorado and Missouri.
Ken and Ginny are the proud parents of two children,
Gesiena and Alexandra. Ginny is a member of the Barboursville Rotary
Club, and works as a librarian. When not working, Ken enjoys spending time
cooking, creating digital images, furthering his appreciation of
wine, and, of course, being an active Rotarian.
